Telegram Stop – Send a Telegram via online

tomkelshaw-telegram-stop

Aussie startup Telegram Stop allow you to send olde-timey Telegrams via online form, for $USD4.70.

They’re delivered within 4 days, only 2-3 days slower than in the olde days!

Certainly a novelty, these would probably fit somewhere in between the occasion where you’d send an email (“Hey I just saw this hilarious fat kid dancing on Youtube”) and a real-life dead-tree card (“Congratulations, you just had a baby girl”).

Also: Australia Post has offered the same service for years, only via a less sleek design and more expensive, less visually appealing product (naturally): http://auspost.com.au/telegram

That looks EXTREMELY fake. Might be good for a laugh but then again why wouldn't I just make it myself. I could do a nicer job for about 50 cents and half an hour with the laser printer and a typewriter (both of which I have). I realise not everybody's got a typewriter so whatever, but this telegram isn't even typewritten anyway it just looks like some crappy downloaded font. Hell, maybe I should be making a site like that. Now that I think about it, it's pretty damn clever. There's got to be 1 million people out there too stupid and lazy to make a fake telegram themselves.
