I had a rule during high-school: Never wear the t-shirt of the band you are going to see at a gig. It makes your music tastes look limited.

For Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane gigs, howevere, this will never be a problem. They jam with the Lord, now, so next time you see them at a gig you’ll be wearing Angel wings, not a t-shirt.
